Search Engine Rankings

At Firepower Promotion, we know how important getting high search engine rankings are to your business. Sales rely on visitors and the visitors have to come from somewhere. There are many ways to pay to get visitors (PPC, targeted advertisement, banner advertisements, RSS feeds, Blog postings, high quality reciprocal links, inbound links with key search terms), but the best way is the "free" way. Research indicates that most people choose the top 5 responses exponentially more than the results that fall off of page 1.

Our proprietary tools are designed to examine every page based on the current search engine algorithms implemented by the major search engines. If you want to be #1 on Google, there are different components that need to be added (compared to wanting to be #1 on Yahoo or #1 on MSN).

Getting these top search engine rankings is accomplished by the following formula:

Top 10 = (Time * (Content + Coding)) + Money)

You can adjust some of the variables to get higher (time is the one that is hardest to manipulate - although not impossible). Where we come in is the content + coding (which, when multiplied by time, carry the biggest significant human factor to make a page appear high on the search engines).

So, where does money come in. How can you get higher on search engines with money? In some ways, money must be spent to accurately code and create the keyword rich content. But, discounting that, there are obvious ways to spend money to get results in search engines. For instance, given an unlimited amount of funds, you could find a bunch of high ranking sites and pay them to put your link on their site. That is just one example (and a demonstration of the extremes that people will go to in order to get higher rankings). We can manage campaigns like that, as well as other techniques (if your marketing budget allows for them).

But money is not a multiplier, just an addition (which means that the payoff is not as big when compared to the Time or the Coding + Content variable).

How long does it take?

Unfortunately, there is not a textbook, cookie cutter answer. It all depends on your keywords and your strategy. The most widely used strategy is to optimize your pages for the major keywords, but also spend a lot of time looking at tangential keywords and keyphrases. The lower requested keyphrases will rise to the top quicker, bringing with them an indication of credibility for your site. The campaign is interlaced with techniques ranging from inbound link building, content generation, PPC campaigns and other internet advertising and marketing techniques. The payoffs can be big, though. You have to ask yourself this question: How much money am I losing because my pages are not optimized for my industry's keywords?
